Mechanical Engineer

EVB Engineering is a Cornwall based firm with a client base in Eastern Ontario.  Our projects cover a vast array of municipal, commercial, land development, institutional and industrial clients.  We are currently searching for a motivated Mechanical Engineer to complement our team.  The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of project delivery including business development, proposal writing, design, communicating with clients and staff, and contract administration.

• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and detailed mechanical design drawings and specifications for various mechanical building systems (fire protection, plumbing, HVAC and controls) and mechanical process systems (water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, industrial piping, etc.).
• Prepare the required design calculations to support the design.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Coordinate with other disciplines in planning and executing project tasks.
• Visit sites to check on construction progress and inspect the works.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and other construction professionals.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals to address our clients needs.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• P. Eng. designation with PEO is mandatory.
• Minimum of six (6) years of mechanical engineering design experience.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Knowledge of OBC, NBC, ASHRAE, CSA, TSSA and NFPA standards amongst others.
• Knowledge and experience of mechanical design using CAD/BIM software (ACAD, Revit, etc.)
• Knowledge of mechanical construction materials and techniques, welding procedures and process piping fabrication techniques is considered an asset.
• Fast learner with the desire to grow professionally.
